“Nontraditional Tools and Techniques for Textured Acrylic Painting”

March 29-31st, 2019

The Visionary Projects is delighted to be hosting the "Nontraditional Tools and Techniques for Textured Acrylic Painting" workshop with artist Ginger Thomas in Miami, Florida.

Join abstract artist, Ginger Thomas in this unique workshop and explore non traditional techniques for creating heavy texture, plus bringing depth and interest to your work. Ginger will take you through her process in this three day workshop beginning with creating abstract shapes on the canvas with a texture medium. Day two and three, will be spent focusing on blending colors, and adding depth and interest to your pieces by creating layers.

- About the Artist -

Ginger Thomas’ passion for art began at a young age, but it was not until 2014 that she began her career as a self-taught artist. She grew up in Summit, Mississippi and spent most of her adult life in Birmingham, AL. In 2011, she returned to Mississippi and began painting in 2014. She quickly realized there was an obvious freedom and personal expression with abstraction and she was deeply interested in the effects of color, texture and the emotional response to strong composition and design. By creating something that told a story without an observational subject matter was very exciting to her. Ginger’s work is a mix of styles, ranging from modern to rustic. Her goal is to have the elements of design, color and texture unleash a sense of emotion for the viewer.
