The Visionary Projects is delighted to be hosting the "Modern Minimalism & Mindful Design" travel artist workshop with international artist Kim Rose in Miami, Florida.

Join Kim in this unique workshop: a wholistic course covering style and inspiration, color theory, alcohol ink techniques, resin techniques, photography of art, and photo editing. We will start with how to find art and photo inspiration. Then dive into color theory, intention, and pairing this with alcohol ink. After we will dive into practicing on different surfaces and mastering techniques. We will also go over using art resin as a form of polishing and protecting pieces.

Workshop Days: Friday, August 2nd - Sunday, August 4th, 2019
Workshop Hours: 10:00am - 4:00pm
Please arrive in Miami on Thursday August 1st, 2019
and depart on Monday, August 5th, 2019.

Meeting and Introduction
My story and mission as an artist
Finding your own inspiration
Color Theory:
Colors and style inspirations
Finding your color palette and style
How this relates to art and your social postings
The Basics of Alcohol ink - Focusing primarily on techniques:
Information about texture and surface of medium
Picking colors and color testing.
Playing around with different techniques on drying and adding texture.

Day 2: Saturday, August 3

Focusing on Alcohol ink and Mastering your own style
Sharing a bit of our techniques
Working on Different surfaces, with different tools:
Yupo paper, watercolor paper, class, tiles
Doing final pieces on Medium Clayboard Canvas

Day 3: Sunday, August 4

10:00am - 4:30pm
The importance of telling your story through photos
How to find photo inspiration
How to photograph art
Popular editing apps and softwares
Shooting and editing your own art

Small and medium watercolor brushes
Small and medium oil paint brushes
(4) Yupo Medium Paper Pad - 9" x 12"
(1) Watercolor paper pad
(3) Ceramic Bisque Tiles or other artist tiles
(2) Medium Clayboard Canvas
(3) Sakura Microperm Permanent marker
Art Resin (8oz)

What we provide you during this workshop:
Cotton swabs for alcohol ink, Paper towels or rags, Bowls for alcohol ink, Alcohol Ink (90% or higher), Disposable gloves, Straw, Dishwasher safe Modge Podge (to seal the alcohol ink on glass surface), (1) plain white coffee mug to dye for practicing techniques.  , Plastic or cardboard container to fit over medium clayboard canvas, Disposable plastic gloves, Popsicle mixing sticks, One Quart measuring cup, Red solo cups, Wax paper (to cover table surface from resin)

We have our own private loft studio space in the center of the vibrant, colorful neighborhood of Wynwood.

During this workshop, we create individual workstations for all participants, as well as a demonstration & lecture space for the instructor. Aside from a gourmet breakfast and lunch - endless coffee, wine and snacks will be provided throughout each day of the workshop.

We typically take professional photographic images & short video footage throughout the duration of the course. These are private images, for you to keep as well whether for personal or professional use.
