with Louis Thomas

20-22nd April: Aureo Roma is delighted to be hosting the "Exploring Reality to Create Imagination" travel workshop with internationally French artist Louis Thomas here in Rome, Italy.

Spaces are exclusively limited to only 10 participants.

This workshop is meant to find ways to create your own style and voice when you paint/draw portraits and characters.

Art history shows us that the best way to create anything is to explore reality at first, by observing and sketching other students or people on the street, a park (or a nude model for figure drawing ?)...

And then create from these studies, memories and sensation something that belongs to your imagination and own creation.

Through study of portraits variations in art history, and sketching from reality, we will explore numbers of style to try to find yours.

At the end of the workshop there will be an exhibition where each student look at each other work and communicate what their inspiration is and what the learn through this process.

Louis Thomas graduated from Gobelins and Cal Arts, then lived in L.A. to work for big studios such as Pixar, Cartoon Network and Sony. Now he has returned to France where he continues to explore the world of illustration and spend time with the love of his life, Pipo the cat.
