of all creative backgrounds

July 20-21, 2019

The Visionary Projects is delighted to be hosting the “Inspiring Spirituality with Vibrant Acrylic Textures“ 2-day creative painting workshop with Dallas based artist Stephanie Lawhorn, known as Inspired by Him Art. Join Stephanie to explore the ways Christianity and God’s Creations in nature inspire her unconventional texture techniques using heavy acrylics. Stephanie will model her various palette knife and finger painting techniques as a way to create contemporary/abstract art or add texture and interest to your own personal painting style.

- About the Artist -

Stephanie Lawhorn is a contemporary/abstract artist inspired by the colors and textures viewed in nature as seen through the lens of her Christian faith. She often states that ‘God is the Greatest Artist’ and seeks to share the beauty of the Lord’s Creation through her paintings. Each piece, while consistent in the use of texture and/or vibrant color, becomes an entity of its own depending on the message the work is meant to convey. Stephanie’s paintings are created in oils and/or heavy acrylics with the palette knife and her own fingers often being used to created the resulting textures. Although she currently works as an art educator in Texas, she herself is self-taught and enjoys exploring the creative freedom of her own intuition and His inspiration.
